About this Course

This class is for swimmers who can complete an endurance challenge of 200 metres in 6 minutes or better and a 5-pound object support for 1 minute in deep water. Swimmers are challenged with 600 metre workouts and a 25 metre object carry. First aid focuses on treatment of bone and joint injuries and respiratory emergencies including asthma and allergic reactions. Lifesaving skills include defence methods, victim removals and rolling over and supporting a victim face up in shallow water. Swimmers will be required to complete an endurance challenge of 300 metres in 9 minutes or better.
